21 March 2008 Friday night, Jurong Kainkan 11.49pm PD Camp Before, I reached Jurong kaikan, I was having a small flu. This taught me a lesson, going to camp, must pack items a day before, don’t pack last minute. Day 1 In this PD camp, at the beginning I find it unrealistic having this camp with so little students. But I was wrong, when time files, parents start to accompany him with his kids to the registration counter. After quite a while, the hall of wisdom filled with students and sunshine aunties doing their evening counter. Opening speech was said after that by the chief sunshine aunty and announcing the numbers of students that are present for the camp. Their motive of the camp: making good connection with the FD students and bonding friendship together. Silence starts to arose in the hall. Do you know why? The air-conditioners in the hall is super duper cold, making everyone finding a excuse to leave the hall when they were talking boring topics – camp rules. Making the kids to get a coat for themselves in their dooms. Next agenda is a very interesting and shocking one. Guess who is here? VGD Mr Chan! He came and share the history of Soka Gakkai. It is a interesting and useful topic for the leaders and other ICs but it is humdrum to the kids. His slides are a lot one lor. After so long, he finally finishes his lecture. Sitting directly under the air-conditioner is not a good thing, but when it comes to a hot day is good. We were told that we will go for a short break, finally I am dying of hunger. Listening to FD chief lecture is the best thing of the day, he said a few points that we need to learn in the camp for the PD. 1. How to control the PD kids? - Controlling kids, first must control yourself, if a person lacking of self-discipline yourself, you will not be able to control the kids. - Controlling kids must not be tough, must let them respect you. 2. Why we must reach the 500 per Chapter General Meeting? - Having this is one of the ways to promote Soka Gakkai in Singapore and expanding the membership. - Secondly, it is to maintain the stability of the Gakkai membership. - Thirdly, it is to let the members have the chance to continue their human revolution. - Fourthly, it is to show the actual proof to Sensei that we can continue the Gakkai growth. 3. How to motivate them? - As a leader if we are dealing with the lower primary school kids, we must be siao. We must be able to 自high. - We must use this method to bring back the atmosphere. So that they will not be so shine to talk or do their cheer. It is about sleeping time, 12.48am in the morning to me is quite normal but to the cubs I think is quite late for them. Having them to wake up the next morning at 6.30am like school hours. Me as a FD facilitator needs to help the aunties to pamper them to sleep is not an easy job. Before I went to sleep, I ate 2 pieces of chocolate cake – they bought it for the tea break on the first day. Eaten the 2 pieces of cake, I don’t feel like going to sleep. Opening up my lappy and start to write journal. Now the situation is most of the clubs are sleeping in their wonderful land and waiting to start a new day. It is a new start when they wake up. Day 2 Wa! I just slept and the aunties already start to call the kids to wake up. Therefore, being a kid Is better to be a facilitator. Need to sleep late and need to wake up early. The kids are very naughty, early in the morning still don’t want to go to bed. Now, they have a great challenge to finish the whole camp – amazing race. This is the major and the theme of the camp, making them to be together as a class. Making them run up and down the whole kaikan, not only they are tired the facilitator and aunties also drained. But is very happy to run and play the game stations with them. Making them to do the cheer is the best, maybe we are old already so don’t have the energy to shout so loud. While playing the game, I went to eat and take a short break, the kids saw it, they were jealous of me taking a short break when they are trying to solve the puzzle. A lot of food and beverages for us to eat and enjoy. It is a very good learning camp for them – P6 pupils. Hope that FD also have such a camp like this.

I was shocked to hear one of the Taiwanese who is sharing on his victory report of their country was told by the MC, he practice the scrpit for 10 hours before going up to speak. I was deeply impressed by his determination to share with us about his country victory. After the guests and VIPs have left, Lenonard our ymd chief told us to stay back as he had something to share with us. He was a joker, he bought us back the spirits that we must fight till the end, until we have the total victory. He said the following "Tomorrow, the Niken Sect. will be holding their 3.16 meeting in the morning and we will be holding it in the afternoon. We must not lose to them tomorrow, we must win. All the YMDs next morning will be going to TSC, to chant. We must chant until morning we will have tunderstorm and when is our turn to have the meeting, we must chant for fine weathers." The prayers really came true, it really shows the actual proof of the Gohonzon. So from this meeting we can said that Nichren Daishonin is telling us the correct thing. Lotus Sutra is the king of the Sutras. 3.16 is the big event where we welcome the big shot minister - Mr George Yeo. He went up to say a few words on the association can do and etc. Being one of association that is fighting for the sake of peace, we must continue this Ichinen. I am doing welcoming with other FD students and SD students. When we went in to the hall, it is full, completely. Out of a sudden i saw Dillon, Benedict and one of Dillon's friend. For which Gohonzon always like to tease me, always like to play with me. When i wanted to see him, he don't appear when i am not thinking or wanted to see him, he appear. This is very rare chance. After the show i shake hand with him and left for my dinner.
